VIDEO: Cabrera and Leyland ejected in the third inning for arguing balls and strikes… Fairchild strikes again!

Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera was ejected from Sunday’s series finale with the Philadelphia Phillies in the third inning after arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire Chad Fairchild. Subsequently manager Jim Leyland was also ejected sticking up for his best player as the Tigers also had a bases loaded and one out situation while trailing 1-0.

Ironically though this wouldn’t be the first time Fairchild ejected a Tigers players during a very questionable circumstance.

Back on July 11th, Fairchild ejected Tigers reliever Luke Putkonen for throwing behind White Sox shortstop Alexi Ramirez. This came after Chicago starter Chris Sale threw a high and tight pitch to Prince Fielder right after Cabrera hit a solo home run to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead.

Needless to say Fairchild probably isn’t a big Tigers fan or Leyland fan right now for that matter.
