Michigan’s title hopes came to an end Monday night as the Wolverines fell to No. 1 Louisville 82-76 from Atlanta.
Trey Burke led all scorers with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists while Spike Albrecht had 17 points off the bench. And speaking of Albrecht he certainly looked like a man possessed in the first half sinking three after three looking very much non-freshman like.
However Albrecht came back down to earth in the second half. In fact Albrecht would be held scoreless the entire second half.
Heading into the break with a slim 38-37 lead, Michigan had enjoyed a much bigger advantage in the first half. However Luke Hancock of Louisville was able to match Albrecht’s intensity scoring 14 unanswered to get the Cardinals back into the game.
