Justin Verlander is a Sports Illustrated cover-athlete yet again.
The Tigers ace is one of six MLB players to appear on the latest regional series of covers for Sports Illustrated which previews the upcoming season.
For Verlander this is his third SI cover with his first one coming back in 2006 his rookie season.
As far as the predictions go, SI picked the Tigers to win the AL Central but lose to the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. Furthermore, Verlander is predicted to win the AL Cy Young by SI’s Ben Reiter who also selects Angels outfielder Mike Trout to win the AL MVP. Meanwhile the magazine believes Miguel Cabrera will win two of three Triple Crown categories (.335 avg., 126 RBI) after taking it home alst season while Jose Bautista will win the home run race with 44 total. Finally Al Alburquerque will have the best strikeout per nine ratio with 12.5.
