Minnesota’s Charlie Coyle got a very valuable lesson last night in Hockey 101, keeping your head up on the play.
The teacher was none other than Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall who stepped into Coyle, standing his ground like a brick wall.
Now unlike other Kronwall hits that are left for debate in terms of their cleanliness, this one was pretty text book if you ask me. Kronwall had his shoulders and elbows down almost looking like an NBA player setting a screen.
Except Kronwall didn’t have very good control of his stick which caught Coyle in the face resulting in a four minute double-minor.
The Wild got the last laugh as well winning the game 4-2.
