Red Wings forward Jordin Tootoo dropped the gloves twice Tuesday night in a 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars from the Joe.
Tootoo’s first fight on the night came just three seconds into the game as he sparred with Eric Nystrom right off the opening face off.
Tootoo’s second fight came later in the period as he and Brenden Dillon went at it after bumping into each other at about the 3:50 mark.
Tootoo didn’t seem to of fared as well against Dillon as the much shorter Tootoo left the fight with what looked to be a bloody nose.
Nonetheless Tootoo adds a factor to the Wings that they really haven’t seen in a while, a guy that’s going to go out and stick up for his teammates and provide a spark by doing what he does best… dropping the gloves.
Whether or not this will ultimately benefit the Wings in the long run is yet to be seen. It should still be fun to watch whenever he’s on the ice though.
