Even thought he actual schedule wont’ be released until tomorrow, it looks like Wings fans are getting an early glimpse of what the first few games could look like for Detroit as they take to the ice for the first time since the NHL lockout wiped out half of the season.
According to Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press, the Wings are looking to open up their home schedule on January 22nd against the Dallas Stars from the Joe Louis Arena.
The full schedule is more than likely going to consist of 48 total games with the Wings beginning the season on January 19th in St. Louis before traveling to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets two nights later. They’ll conclude the regular season on April 27th in Dallas.
In preparation for the regular season, the Wings will take physicals Saturday and begin a shortened training camp at Compuware Arena in Plymouth. Currently the Joe is being occupied by Ford as they prepare for the North American International Auto Show.
