Junior Hockey Roundup: Saginaw edges out Plymouth as Port Huron falls to Kalamazoo

Saginaw 6, Plymouth 5 – FINAL

The Spirit have now won three straight home games defeating in-state rival Plymouth 6-5 Wednesday night. Justin Kea and Gregg Sutch each had two goals for Saginaw as the Spirit used a four goal first en rout to the victory. Total shots were 34-29 in favor of Plymouth while on the power play Plymouth had two goals on five chances with Saginaw getting zero power play chances.

Kalamazoo 3, Port Huron 2 – FINAL (SO)

Port Huron gets edged out by Kalamazoo 3-2 in a shootout Wednesday night from Port Huron. Nick Horne and Brandon Lukezic accounted for the Fighting Falcons scoring in regulation while Ian Miller got the lone Port Huron goal in the shootout period. Total shots were 33-28 in favor of Port Huron. On the power play Kalamazoo went 0 for 3 while Port Huron went 0 for 6.
