Detroit downs Milwaukee in Horizon opener

As the Titans raised their 2012 Horizon Tournament Championship banner they picked up right where they left off last season, beating in-conference opponents.

Thursday night Detroit opened up the 2013 Horizon schedule by defeating Milwaukee 74-59 extending their Calihan Hall winning streak to an impressive 16 games. Doug Anderson and Evan Bruinsma each had 12 points while Nick Minnerath had added 10.

Despite being down at halftime 31-30 and tied 40-40 with 15:38 left in the second half, Ray McCallum Jr was able to do what he does best, igniting the Detroit offense by hitting a three-pointer and starting a 13-2 Titan run. Following a Milwaukee basket Detroit went on another 13-2 run while the rout was one.

To finish Detroit shot 47 percent from the field and hit 14 of 15 free throws.
