Ken Holland gets booed at the Lions game… Detroit fans need to be better than this

Red Wings GM Ken Holland, a huge component to the Wings’ continued success for over a decade when he took over the role in 1997 was booed this past Sunday during the Lions’ 26-24 loss to the Chicago Bears from Ford Field.

The booing by many of the 65,000 occurred when Holland was shown on the Ford Field big screen as the Lions were in the wake of another disappointing weekend and the NHL being in the midst of another disappointing labor lockout.

And because of the given circumstances is very understandable that Detroit fans are upset. I don’t even have a problem with fans booing their ownifthey deserve it.

Holland didn’t deserve it.

The Red Wings GM is simply a middle-man caught in the middle of whats become a war of attrition between the NHL owners and players association. Detroit fans or fans of “Hockeytown” should know this and ultimately should be better than this.
