Draymond Green was doing his fair share of talking prior to today’s game against Michigan.
Good thing he was able to back it up.
The Michigan State senior picked up 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead Michigan State (No. 10 ESPN/USA Today, No. 9 AP) to a 64-54 win over Michigan (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) on Sunday, backing up his guarantee of a victory.
The Spartans ended a three game losing streak to their counterparts in Ann Arbor and moved into second place all by themselves in the Big Ten, one game behind Ohio State.
Green also stood pat on his pre-game promises despite a sprained knee suffered against Illinois earlier in the week and had the best game of his career in the series.
Meanwhile for Michigan they could never really get things going offensively. Tim Hardaway, Jr., missed his first six shots and was held to a season low four points. Trey Burke was also relatively quiet being held to only one shot in the first before nailing a three pointer just before the half ended. Burke ended up finishing the game with 11 points.
