The Titans couldn’t overcome a weak second half and dominating performance by Ryan Broekhoff as they fall to Valpo 78-73 Thursday night.
Broekhoff was amazing from the field for Valpo Thursday hitting all six of his three-point attempts and was 8 for 9 overall from the field.
After a good first half from Detroit, the Titans couldn’t hold on as the Crusaders battled back to take a 64-62 lead on Van Broekhoff’s 3-pointer with 5:41 left in the game. Broekhoff added another one with 4:08 remaining that broke a 66-all tie. This eventually led to a 10-3 run for Valpo who didn’t look back from there.
Chase Simon, Ray McCallum and Eli Holman each had 14 points for the Titans who fall to 12-12 on the season and 6-6 in the Horizon. Doug Anderson added 12 and Jason Calliste had 10.
