The Pistons dropped their seventh straight game Wednesday night after a 99-96 loss to the New Jersey Nets.
Nets point guard Deron Williams had 26 points while the former Mr. Kim Kardashian Kris Humphries added 18 points.
The upside though (if there is any) for the Pistons is Greg Monroe had another strong night offensively scoring 21 points and remained strong defensively getting 8 rebounds. Veteran Tayshaun Prince also had 21 points while rookie point guard Brandon Knight had 15 points.
After a tough stretch of games, head coach Lawrence Frank saw “character” and “grit” in his team’s performance…
“There were opportunities where it could’ve gone south,” Frank said. “We kept on fighting, put ourselves in position to win the game, and had shots to tie the game.”
And one night after questioning the team’s slow offensive development in games, veteran Tayshaun Prince sounded optimistic regarding his team’s play Wednesday…
“Over the last I don’t know how many games, we’ve been in a situation where we’ve been double digits, pretty much, going into the fourth quarter, and not having a chance in the fourth,” he said. “To have a chance, it feels new to us. It’s been a while.”“Hopefully, we can continue to be in games like this,” Prince said, “where we’re in a one- or two-possession game, whether we’re up or down, so we can work on situations like the game tonight.”
