Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke finished off a very consistent tournament to go on and win the 2011 British Open. Remarkably enough this is Clarke’s first major tour win and only his fourth career tournament win.

Clarke opened Thursday shooting 2-under and 3 shots back of the leader but quickly shot ahead by shooting a solid 68, 68, 69 and 70.

Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson tied for second at 2-under while Rickie Fowler earned his first top five by finishing the open even par.
