The Dallas Mavericks are the 2011 NBA Champions after beating the Miami Heat 105-95 to take the best of seven series 4 games to 2. Now what could be more interesting than the finals itself is how the media will come down on LeBron James following another loss for himself in the finals.

As far as game 6 goes though, Dallas started to take control early in the second half just when the NBA world thought that Miami was going to make its run.

It never happened.

Instead of Miami’s big three of LeBron, D-Wade and Chris Bosh coming through for Heat fans, it was the combination of  JJ Barea (15 points), Jason Terry (game-high 27 points), or Dirk Nowitzki providing the answers for Dallas and keeping the Heat from forcing a game 7.

Dirk Nowitzki, who was named the finals MVP, didn’t have his best game going 9-27 from the field and only scoring 11 points through 3 quarters. However unlike LeBron throughout most of the series, Dirk came up big in the fourth quarter netting 10 points helping Dallas pull away.

Again, it’s going to be a long interesting summer for LeBron James one that may be a lot longer then he wants with an impending NBA labor lockout. This is especially the case since LeBron for the most part was a non factor in this series. You can put aside the triple-double in game 5, you can put aside him being the leading scorer for his team in game 6, none of that matters now. When the Miami Heat needed LeBron James most he wasn’t there. And again, if you look at tonight’s game, even while scoring 21 points, it’s going to be LeBron’s 6 turnovers and -24 for the Heat with LeBron on the floor that stands out most.

Now it’s Dirk with that monkey finally off his back heading back to Dallas with a ring on his finger. One more than LeBron James.
