In this week’s episode of Blitzcast, we preview the upcoming College Football Playoff and give our predictions. We also discuss what makes an elite program in college football and where Chip Kelly might end up for his next head coaching gig.

No. 4 Oklahoma vs. No. 1 Clemson

Will Clemson continue their undefeated season into the National Championship Game or will the Sooners’ depth in the backfield and ability to get a at the quarterback derail perfection for the Tigers? Adam reluctantly sides with the Sooners while Dorf and Shawn pick Clemson.

No. 3 Michigan State vs. No. 2 Alabama

Michigan State makes their first College Football Playoff appearance against what Adam argues is not the same Alabama team we’ve seen in years past. With that Adam takes the Spartans with the Crimson Tide playing right into Michigan State’s defensive gameplay. Dorf seems to agree with Adam’s assessment but still can’t go with the Spartans in the end.

What makes you elite in College Football?

Aside from your brand, what makes you an elite program in college football? Dorf, Adam and Shawn make their picks with Alabama and Ohio State being unanimous selections. But who else rounds out the list?

No Spartan respect?

Dorf lays out a ‘case study’ on Michigan State done by Spartan YouTuber Andy H. and why people still give them a backseat to Michigan in that State and really throughout the country. Are both teams still not equal in the eyes of the fans in the State of Michigan?

Eagles

As Chip Kelly got his walking papers from the Philadelphia Eagles, what’s next for the once highly sought after head coach? Will he make a return to the college game where he enjoyed tremendous success with the Oregon Ducks or does his destiny continue to lie within the pro game and NFL? Could we see a reunion with his former quarterback in Marcus Mariota?
