American Bethanie Mattek-Sands suffered a gruesome and stomach turning knee injury today during her second round match against Sorana Cirstea at Wimbledon.
One-half of the number one doubles team at the Tournament, Mattek-Sands knee looked to have given out and totally unhinged itself from the socket as she was approaching the net. It was then she immediately fell to the grass in obvious pain as clutched her knee in agony.
Cirstea jumped the net proceeded to check on her opponent before being horrified at the sight herself.

Mattek-Sands was eventually stretchered off the court after about 15 minutes. Nonetheless you have to wonder if she’ll ever set foot on a tennis court again considering the trouble this particular knee has been giving her throughout her career.
