ESPN suspends Max Bretos after using “chink in his armor” phrase when talking about Jeremy Lin
ESPN announced that they’ve suspended ESPN anchor Max Bretos after he used the inappropriate phrase “chink in his armor” when talking about Knicks emerging star Jeremy Lin.
ESPN released the following statement…
We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin. His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asian-American employees at ESPN. Through self-examination, improved editorial practices and controls, and response to constructive criticism, we will be better in the future.
In all Bretos was suspended for 30 days while the employee responsible for the mobile heading was dismissed.
