The San Francisco Giants are your 2014 World Series Champions as they defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-2 Wednesday night in Game 7 from Kauffman Stadium.

Pablo Sandoval went three-for-three in the win while Madison Bumgarner pitched 5 scoreless innings in relief as the Giants clinched their third World Series title in the last five years.

Bumgarner though continued to be the story for really the entire postseason.

The San Francisco lefty made history throwing 52 2/3 innings, which is more than anyone else ever did in a single postseason while generating a 1.03 ERA and strikeout-to-walk ratio over 7:1.

Remarkable.

Not to mention Bumgarner’s five scoreless innings in an elimination game tonight game on two days rest.

As a whole though the Giants’ run to another World Series title is pretty amazing. Especially when you consider they played below .500 from June 9th to the end of the season while having to win the Wild Card game to even earn a shot in the NLDS. Then there’s that pesky little fact of the Giants becoming the first team since 1979 to win a World Series game 7 on the road.
