Madison Bumgarner is continuing to prove he’s one of the most dominant post season pitchers in the history of the MLB.

The Giants lefty threw the first complete game shutout in a World Series since 2003 as San Francisco shut out Kansas City 5-0 to take a 3-2 lead in the World Series.

Brandon Crawford had 3 RBI in the win but it was Bumgarner’s performance was on for the books as his 0.29 career World Series ERA (minimum of 25 IP) is the lowest in history.

The Giants will now try to eliminate the Royals in six games from Kauffman Tuesday night with Jake Peavy taking the hill against rookie Yordano Ventura.

History seems to be on the side of the Giants. In the last 41 instances where the World Series was tied at 2-games a piece, the winner of Game 5 went on to win the Fall Classic 27 times.
