Despite rumors of being on the trade block, the Cavaliers have signed Andrew Wiggins to his rookie deal.

The contract is reportedly over the span of two-years with two option years as speculation continues to surround the No. 1 overall pick as to whether or not he’ll even play for the Cavaliers. Of course this all resonates from rumors a few weeks back that the team would trade Wiggins to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love pairing LeBron James with proven NBA talent.

With the signing, Wiggins can now no longer be traded for 30-days which really doesn’t hamper any potential deal for Wiggins it just delays any official announcement during that time frame. At this point though the status of any deal for Wiggins especially between Minnesota and Cleveland is unclear. The Timberwolves have reportedly been insistent that any deal involving Love, Wiggins would have to be going the other way. Initially the Cavs were hesitant on this but have reportedly cooled on the idea recently.
