Upon the Seattle Seahawks’ 43-8 Super Bowl win over the Broncos University of Washington students took to the streets to do what College students seemingly do very well, burn couches and anything that isn’t nailed down in the street. KIROTV.com reports:

Chris said, “We burned couches. Then they came and they left. We burned more couches. They came and then left.”

This cycle continued until well past 9 p.m. when police finally cleared the fire at 47th Street and 17th Avenue.

When asked why they were burning couches, Chris said, “It’s good for the environment, probably.”

He also said that many students used the phrase “YOLO”: you only live once.

The report further claims that once police showed up crowds dispersed only to re-organize and continue to light stuff up when the cops left.
